Sales Operations & Outreach Manager, Summer Campaign

Salary range: $1000-1200/week
Timeline: Starting on or before July 1, 2022, through September 2022
Location: New York Adirondack/North Country Region. Remote work is acceptable with occasional reporting to Saranac Lake office.

Northern Power & Light is a family-owned, renewable energy company based in Saranac Lake. The company is currently seeking qualified candidates to support and execute a summer outreach campaign to enroll customers in a new Community Hydro project.
At our core, we believe in a clean energy transition that is built at the local level, and from the ground up. Our mission is to develop and deliver sustainable energy options that are meaningful, both in terms of combating climate change, but also in supporting North Country businesses and communities.
While our primary offering is Community Hydro, the company is excited to be developing new offerings in a rapidly evolving renewable energy and electrification space.
The Role
The Sales Operations & Outreach Manager will work directly with NP&L co-founders in developing and implementing a customer acquisition strategy to enroll our next Community Hydro Project.
This is a temporary position for the duration of a summer marketing campaign, with potential for full time placement.
Work Location
This position is based in Saranac Lake, NY. The successful candidate may choose to work from home or at our office. If the individual chooses to work remotely, they will be required to report to the office regularly.
Responsibilities include:
- Train and oversee a team of 3-5 part time Independent Contributors in the acquisition of renewable energy customers
- Play a key role in team motivation and engender an inclusive environment inspired by the company’s mission of a locally empowered clean energy transition
- Generate training materials and systematize best practices in the sales process
- Pitch in with lead generation and direct sales, particularly for small business and commercial customer outreach
Requirements:
- Passion for sustainability, energy equity, and combating climate change
- 3+ years’ experience in sales operations management and/or equivalent marketing experience
- Must be based in the North Country/Adirondack region and be passionate about supporting local businesses and the community
- Must be able to organize and travel to community events around the Adirondack/North Country region
- Strong public speaking skills and experience with community outreach Proficiency with Salesforce/relevant CRM, Excel, and PowerPoint
Compensation:
Employment Type: Seasonal July-September 2022, Full Time
Compensation: Aprox $1000/week (base + performance comp)
Benefits: As this is a part-time position (1099), we cannot offer traditional benefits. However, some of the perks of working for NP&L include our flexible WFH policy and the opportunity for increased earnings based on performance.
