Graphic Designer

Location: New York Adirondack/North Country Region. Remote work is acceptable with occasional reporting to our Saranac Lake office.

Northern Power & Light is a family-owned, renewable energy company based in Saranac Lake.

Our mission is to develop and deliver sustainable energy options that are meaningful, both in terms of combating climate change, but also in supporting North Country businesses and local communities. Our primary offering is Community Hydro, where customers sign up with local hydro producers and receive a share of their output.

Building brand awareness is an important part of achieving our goal and we see great design as fundamental to our success.

The Role

The Graphic Design role entails tailoring our logo and core messaging to fit a variety of branded promotional products, including tee shirts, tote bags, water bottles, window clings, etc.

Additionally, the role entails designing printed materials - such as direct mailers and brochures - that engage, educate, and promote Northern Power & Light and local producers of renewable energy.

Responsibilities include:

• Designing a line of promotional products/swag for NP&L’s summer outreach campaign
• Designing engaging brochures and postcards for sales collateral and direct mail

Requirements:

• Previous experience designing similar promotional products.
• Proficiency with relevant software such as Adobe Creative Suite
• Ability to work collaboratively
• This is a remote, part-time position, but candidates should reside in the North Country/Adirondack region and be able to travel to Saranac Lake and/or Canton Potsdam for regular in-person meetings and events.
